The Miniature Raintrollop Tree

This herb has shiny leaves in every color of the rainbow.  When the leaf is snipped with a special encased trimmer it emits a special gas.  The gas is released from the flowering bud at the tip of each leaf.  The gasses are used to make essential oils for general remedies and magical uses.  To care for them you must use unicorn manure for fertilizer.  These plants can be found in the exact center of the Fangorn Forest.  They are rarely cultivated with soil that does not come from that forest.  Every 3 months it must be fed 'Rainbow Water' (which can be found at Herbal Front) for premium growth.

When grown indoors, the must start out in a large pot.  Transfer of this plant does not work out well.  The plant cannot survive once it is uprooted.  Below are details of each color leaves properties.

The Reverilant

This plant is a azure coloured foliage. It is a small and thin plant, with quite large leaves. It's very recognizable by the silver on the tips of the leaves and the silver roots.

The purpose of the reverilant is to stop people having nightmares or uneasy sleep. It's named after reverie meaning dream. It's properties block out bad dreams caused by a person's subconscious. It's very useful for people who have just had a terrible experience which is causing them to have uneasy sleep with nightmares.

The reverilant can be found growing under mahogany trees or a tropical tree.

The reverilant doesn't need much care, for it usually takes care of itself. The only care it needs if being grown at home is too make sure it doesn't get too much sunlight, because the sunlight will burn through the leaves where the magical properties are.

The Nadasvet

The plant's name is Nadasvet. It looks a lot like a cactus but without the thorns, and for the fact that it is flat.

The purpose of this plant is to avoid smelly feet. Just by adding a little dried nadasvet to your shoes, you have instant fresh, nice-smelling, dry feet. Very useful for Quidditch players!

Nadasvet can be found naturally all over Scandinavia and Russia, and it can also be grown on any locations with a similar climate. The nadasvet is very easy to take care of just leave it on it's own, then dry air dry when it is 15-20 weeks.

The Spongis

Purpose: Spongis is carryed in a pouch around the neck for luck and protection. The top "sponge" part of the plant is made into an oil that is used to soothe bruises and sprains. Its leaves are used to make a tea that can cure even the most severe cases of laryngitis. Spongis also gives off an aromatic scent that most find to be very pleasing.
Found: Spongis likes damp, cool places and grows only in Northern Europe. It is most commonly found in Denmark, Estonia, Norway, Sweden, Latvia and parts of England.
Care: Other that being kept cool and wet, spongis needs little care. It is ideal for the average house-witch who wants a useful plant that requires minimal work.

The Mephlioma

LOOKS LIKE: the stem is straight, fuzzy, dark green, about 3 cm. wide and 6-9 inches tall.

Straight across, like a "T," is a completely flat and sturdy layer of what

resembles Queen Ann's Lace.  This layer  is usually about 5 x 5 inches.  Haning

underneath this flat square are the Mephlioma bulbs--little, pale yellow, &

tear-drop shaped. Inside are seeds.

USE: Wizards use crushed mephlioma bulbs in tea to instantly cure most throat

ailments, especially lost voices.  Merpeople enjoy eating the bulbs for it

temporarily gives them a human-like voice quality.

WHERE: This plant thrives underwater surprisingly, & it is protected by the

merpeople.  It will not grow in waters away from at least some species of

merpeople.

HOW: Little to no maintenance required.  However, Mephlioma will not survive out

of waters inhabited by merpeople.  The mer-breath nourishes the plant.  Because

it cannot be grown out of water and must be used quickly after removal,

Mephlioma is rare on much demand.

The Chaton Noir

The name Chaton Noir means, in French, 'Black Kitten'. This is because of the shape, size, and colour of this wonderful, sweet-smelling herb.
Chaton Noir is a small black herb that sprouts in late October. Its leaves are shaped roughly like sleeping cats, and at the most it grows to 3 inches in height.
Chaton Noir has extraordinary healing powers, and when burned produces an aromatic scent that will send anyone off to sleep in a matter of minutes.
Favoured by witches with babies, Chaton Noir is becoming increasingly popular in the wizarding world.
Unfortunately, Chaton Noir is very hard to find or grow. It is found only under matured mandrakes, and will only grow in temperatures of between 15 to 25 degrees celcius.
To grow Chaton Noir in your own home, you must have a mature mandrake, which makes the growing of this magical herb a tiny bit difficult. It is reccommended that only experienced witches or wizards grow Chaton Noir, and if you don't think you're up to it, please don't try.
